‘Mumma Africa’s’

Lusaka Sports Club, , Longacres

Licensed and open for lunch and dinner

Feel like a bit of nsima and village chicken with a hot tomatoey gravy and some seasonal vege? All for K8,500!? Want to eat it in a nice peaceful environment, somewhere with safe parking, cheap beers and pleasant service? I know where you will be headed then; off to the Lusaka Sports Club, but don’t turn down to the Marlin, No, head straight around the back to where the bar is. There, hidden away in a little nook, you will find the source of one of what I think is one of the best value for money traditional lunches around in Lusaka. Run by the friendly ‘Mama Africa’ this place is perfect with an outside seating arrangement (but under cover) in lovely big wicker chairs, your hands will be washed in warm water and if you go there at lunch time you will find the service prompt and the food fresh. Your vegetarian friends can eat pumpkin leaves and groundnuts or rape and the servings are generous. Three cheers for Mumma Africa.
