Sparkling Spar

The world’s largest supermarket  “Spar” has now opened its first store in Lusaka, at the newly constructed Arcades shopping complex.

Open from 8 am to 8 pm, their aim is to satisfy you with the best service at all times and to offer you a little more than what you would usually expect from a supermarket.

Enter their doors and relieve yourself of a few of your little worries at their quite little “KIDS ZONE” .  You can leave your kids playing in the zone where they will be comfortable and safe and pick them up after you have shopped at your own leisurely pace.

Start your experience with the wholesome aroma of freshly ground and percolated Zambian coffee, which will surely waft your way from their coffee shop as you make your way through the abundant display of fresh produce; the freshest and highest quality of local and imported fruits and vegetables for you to choose from.

Try some imported Italian cheese and smoked meats or cheat a little with a ready-made meal assembled for you by one of four resident chefs in the Delicatessen. This section offers a wide range of pastas, prepared cold meats, cheeses, salads and anti pastas.

Don’t forget to pick up a delectable freshly baked cake as you walk through the Bakery to the Bread Basket where you will find a tantalizing variety of over ten different breads.  But don’t stop there. They also have a clean hygienic butchery where you will find good quality prime cuts, spicy marinades, gourmet meat and poultry for all occasions. At Christmas, don’t forget the ham or turkey.

To go with your best cuts from the butchery, walk down to the beer and beverage coolers. Chilled and ready to go, no more hot beer to start your party.  You will also find a good variety of excellent wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Next stop is the dairy stocked with all that a good cow can give - frtesh milk, thick yogurts, cheese and quality butter.

Spar has a wide range of general groceries, 26 well-stocked shelves in 9 isles.

Just before you leave spoil yourself with a mixed bouquet of flowers or even a dainty arrangement to order and if the kids really don’t want to leave Kids Zone,  stop for a little while longer for a huge cup of aromatic Zambian coffee.
