House Of Hope In Lusaka West

The Lusaka West House of Hope is Elizabeth Hill Magson’s dream.

Elizabeth was born in Zambia and emigrated to Australia with her husband, David. However, whenever she visited Zambia, she noticed the growing poverty levels and started to think of ways she coul be of service to the country of her birth.

She and David decided that the best way would be to purchase 23 acres of land in Lusaka West, which they have done and for the land to be divided into two parts – thirteen acres to use as an orphanage and old folks home and the remaining ten to be kept for family use.

Her sister-in-law, Rose Hill, who lives in Zambia, has been assisting Elizabeth with the various formalities needed to get such a project off the ground and The Lusaka West House of Hope is now registered with the Registrar of Socieities and has an interim board in place.

The property for the orphanage is situated near a school as well as a church meaning that orphans will be able to attend school locally, once the buildings for the orphanage have been built.
