CHOMA POLOCROSSE

"The Great Choma Sporting Event" otherwise known as the Polocrosse Tournament, in May, was a great success.  We saw some very exciting chukkas, and congratulations to Livingstone who took top honours.  Very grateful thanks to all the Sponsors: Mars International, Mars Zambia, Coopers Zambia Ltd, Kobil, Zambia Leaf Tobacco, Cambrian Financial Services (slurp slurp... lovely wine bar!), Choma Garage Hardware, South End Travel, Multi Crop, Premier Coatings and all those who donated towards the raffle. Also thanks to all those who don't play polocrosse and who donated their time over the weekend towards making the event such a success.

Once again Choma Polocrosse Club is fielding 50% of it's total membership in the ZimZam International tournament being held in Harare the first weekend of July.  Four adults and two junior members have been chosen as part of the Zambian Squad. Quite a feat for such a small Club.

CRICKET CLUB

Practice is Wed afternoons around 4 at the Polocrosse Club.   We believe a match is in the offing mid-July.

MUSUKU LODGE

All those wanting a quiet weekend in the country please note that Musuku Lodge is phasing out it's Coppernet and Zamnet email addresses.   Bill and Sue Somerset are taking bookings on their Celtel number and address which is 760756@zm.celtelplus.com This is a lovely spot in the Nansai Conservation area overlooking one of  the dams.  View wildlife from your chalet and the birdlife needs no introduction in that part of the world.

ROTARY CLUB

Always such an active organization for the good of the community.... they are in the process of erecting a bus shelter.   However, I forgot to find out where!!!!  Hope it's not up at the Post Office! They are also re-habilitating one of the rural clinics in the area.

Congratulations to PROFESSIONAL INSURANCE.  They have recently opened a branch here in Choma on the corner of the main Livingstone Road and old Macha Road.   They have cleaned up the frontage and put in a little carpark together with a beautifully landscaped rockery on the corner. Well done.

MORE MORE MORE CHOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!
